Natal chart
Creating the natal chart is the only science part of astrology. Essentially given how the planets and moon move around in our solar system and given a point in time at a given location on earth you can calculate the position of the planets and the moon relative to the place and time of birth.
By dividing up the various trajections sufficiently, it produces a unique constellation every approximately 4 minutes for a single unique location. This desire to divide trajactions results in planetary positions, zodiac signs, houses, and aspects.
Interpretation
The 2nd, and cricial, step of astrology is not scientific and more art or intuition, some call it pseudo science. The premise: Your personality is defined, or can be interpreted, by the position of the planets at birth.
Many a book, video and website explain how to interpret the natal chart, or how to interpret a given (current) constellation, with a natal chart or more general identification (what's your zodiac sign?) as background.
However, this premise lacks scientific validity because it has not demonstrated its effectiveness in controlled studies and has no proposed mechanism of action that aligns with established principles of biology and physics. A landmark 1985 double-blind study by Shawn Carlson confirmed that natal astrology failed to produce results statistically different from random chance.
According to a 2025 Pew Research Center survey, 30% of US adults consult astrology, tarot cards, or fortune tellers at least once a year, with most doing so for entertainment or personal insight rather than making major life decisions based on the results. The belief in astrology itself has remained relatively stable, with 27% of Americans stating they believe in it as of 2025, a figure consistent with previous surveys from 2017 and earlier.
The interpretation below is based on various discussions with
astrologists who (unlike me) believe in astrology and have spent a
fair amount of time interpretating charts.
I don't think it describes me in a way family, colleagues or friends
will. However it should conform to a traditional astrological interpretation
and explanation.
Twins
As an aside: Astrologers often suggest that twins, who may have
(almost) identical natal charts, may split the chart between them, with
one twin embodying certain traits while the other emphasizes different
aspects, a process driven by the natural instinct to differentiate oneself
and establish individuality.
Interpretation of my birth chart
To be consumed only with sufficient grains of salt. There's enough to pick and choose from and sufficient gaps to add missing ingredients.Core Personality Overview
🔥 Sun in Aries (14°)
You are bold, assertive, driven, and crave independence. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac: the pioneer, the warrior. You have a strong will and a desire to initiate, lead, and take risks. At 14°, you're well within the heart of Aries. This intensifies your energetic, no-nonsense, forward-moving personality.
🌙 Moon in Aries (25°)
Your emotional world is also fiery, fast-moving, and independent. You feel things quickly and intensely but don’t dwell on emotions. You likely get over things quickly, but can also flare up impulsively. This double Aries placement (Sun + Moon) gives you a highly self-driven nature. Emotional needs are often linked to autonomy and being in control of your environment.
🧠 Thinking & Communication
☿ Mercury in Pisces (17°)
This softens your Aries edge. You may communicate more sensitively than people expect. Your mind is imaginative, intuitive, even poetic. You might absorb the moods and ideas of others easily. Potential challenge: less linear, more dreamy thought patterns. Can struggle with detail-oriented or rigid systems.
💘 Love & Relationships
♀ Venus in Aries (29°)
Venus at the very end of Aries is highly dynamic in love. Impulsive, passionate, perhaps restless. Desire independence and excitement in romance. May be challenged by overly emotional partners.
💪 Drive & Action
♂ Mars in Sagittarius (26°)
Mars (your ruling planet, and your dominant one!) in Sagittarius gives you adventurous energy, a love for exploration, travel, freedom, and truth-seeking. You're energized by big ideas, new experiences, and meaningful goals. You likely dislike routines and feel trapped if your world gets too small. You pursue goals with optimism and enthusiasm, though sometimes impulsively or without enough follow-through.
🌈 Big Picture Themes
♃ Jupiter in Gemini (20°)
Your growth comes from learning, speaking, teaching, and being curious. Jupiter in Gemini gives a restless intellectual nature; you love gathering information and trying new things, but may need help with focus. You likely thrive in environments that allow you to juggle multiple ideas or roles at once.
♄ Saturn in Virgo (7°)
You may feel pressure to “get things right.” Saturn in Virgo gives a tendency toward perfectionism and self-criticism. Life lessons involve learning patience, attention to detail, humility, and building systems that work.
🔮 Generational Influences
These outer planets reflect deeper collective themes you carry:Uranus in Cancer (19°)
Innovation through nurturing; perhaps changes in the way you relate to home or family.
Neptune in Libra (24°)
Idealism in love and social harmony; possibly a tendency to romanticize relationships.
Pluto in Leo (22°)
Your generation seeks personal power, creativity, and self-expression; you may feel compelled to make your mark dramatically.
🔥 Elemental Balance
Fire (15 pts)
You’re action-oriented, passionate, enthusiastic. You want movement, meaning, and momentum.
Air (8 pts)
You have intellectual curiosity and social awareness, but it plays a supporting role.
Water (4 pts)
Emotional depth is present but not dominant.
Earth (0 pts)
Practicality, grounding, and long-term planning may be underdeveloped or less natural for you.
👉 With zero Earth
Your challenge is to slow down, ground your ideas, and turn vision into structure. You might start many things but struggle to finish unless you deliberately anchor them in routine or partnership.
🌟 Dominant Planets
These influence your core "vibe" and drive:Mars (19)
Action, courage, passion, sometimes anger or impulsiveness. You're assertive and thrive on challenge.
Jupiter (17)
Expansion, wisdom, optimism. You're drawn to learning, teaching, and growing.
Pluto (17)
Transformation, power, depth. You likely have a deep inner life, a fascination with control or intensity, and strong instincts.
Moon (16)
Emotions, instinct, security. You have strong emotional reactions and value independence in feeling.
🧭 Key Life Themes
Freedom vs. Structure You crave independence (Aries, Sagittarius), but Saturn in Virgo calls for discipline and practical mastery.
Power and Purpose: Pluto and Mars dominance suggests you're not content with a small life. You want influence, depth, and challenge.
Emotional Self-Reliance: With Moon in Aries and low water, you're not the type to lean on others emotionally. You might learn to soften this edge over time.
Action-Oriented Intellect: Your drive and curiosity (Mars–Sagittarius, Jupiter–Gemini) make you a fast learner and a bold thinker — but grounding these ideas is key to success.
